Japan might have to dump radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean, as it runs out of storage by 2022. The Japanese environment minister has also said that dumping the waste in the ocean will "dilute" it. Professor Neil Hyatt from the University of Sheffield, who is also an expert in radioactive waste management, explained more about the disposal processes, as well as the possible impact on people and the environment.
