07/06/2015 - Here we have a rare look at our badgers in daylight and glorious colour :-)

Here they are trying to hide behind the microphone stand underneath another bird feeder - the peanuts have not been put out yet because well, its daylight and the birds will eat them all!

This is the only time of year we get to see them with our own eyes...they are so comfortable here it is possible to stand around 15 feet away and just watch them!

Lovely creatures!

23/06/2014 - Another funny clip resulting from us letting our dogs out. As you saw in the previous clip, the badgers scarper when they hear our dogs. In this clip, one of the badgers is a bit careless making its getaway!

We put leftovers out mainly for the fox, but the badgers tend to pinch bits that take their fancy. In this case, looks like this badger is partial to crumpets!

Amusingly, when they steal the fox's food, they often look guilty as they dash off with it.

The fox is suprisingly bold with the badgers sometimes! They definitely all know each other, as they mix most nights, and it only seems to be certain badgers that take offence to the fox being around.

Here is another example of a sound that the badgers often make. Not sure on the technical terms here, but it sounds like a chatter sound to us :-) Seems to be some kind of warning.

So...its the same 'favourite' spot, but this time, there isn't much grooming going on...the badger really seems like it is taking a breather. Not sleeping, but pretty motionless for a while. We don't see this sort of thing much. Bit of a power nap maybe!

12/05/2014 - Another scuffle here...a badger appears out of shot and appears to surprise the badger on the right. After some dancing around, they have a bit of a coming together, then it's a sprint to the fence!

The fox is pretty cunning. Funny that. They ideally like a bit of personal space while eating, so often come over and grab as much food as they can in one go. A bit too much in this case, as some gets dropped!

22/01/2015 - Here we see our 'usual' fox visitor being proper fussy about what it wants to eat! This is a pile of cous cous, with a few bits of meat mixed in to it.

Check out the fussy fox - being very careful to push the healthy rubbish out of the way to get to the meat! :-)

07-07-2015 - So this is the next day. The previous day, we had seen the worst fight we had ever seen here (our previous upload)...and today we see another, this time with three badgers getting involved.

This is unusual for us... we dont usually see this much aggression and its not great to watch really when its happening. We want to go outside and tell them to all behave nicely!

However they need to do what they need to do and although this seems quite violent, amazingly the other two badgers in shot just carry on scoffing!

You have just found a clip from UKWildlifeCam! Our channel is a video diary of sorts, from an IP camera in a small yard and paddock in Somerset, England.

Our videos are in date order (we are quite behind at the moment!), and simply show the wonderful creatures that visit us at night.

This all started by accident. We feed the birds, and discovered, by chance, a badger feeding on the waste on the floor one night. This led us to wonder what else might be around, so we bought a camera, and have been absolutely amazed by what we have seen.

We put scraps of food out, and peanuts, and then sit back and see who decides to visit!

Czar is approximately 9 years old. He was taken in by a traveling road show that kept him living in a dog crate in a fifth wheel trailer for the first 9 months of his life. He was only taken out briefly to clean his crate or to feed him. Even though he was continuing to grow his crate was not getting any bigger. Czar now has very distinct rub marks on his nose and forehead from his face being pushed into the grate of the crate. He has a phobia of being in large areas of space. It took him months to get used to being in a large enclosure where he can roam freely and lounge at his leisure.

Czar has grown into a very handsome, mature and judgmental tiger. He actually picks and chooses who he likes and dislikes. When he likes you he gives you rubs and chuff's all day long but if he doesn't like you he will let you know with his powerful roar and mighty charge with spit flying that he disapproves. He also has a talent of getting everyone wet with his spraying. If you aren't paying attention he will mark you up down and sideways before you even knew he had his tail up. At times we think he sits back and just laughs at all of us silly humans, thinking we just aren't as smart as he is.

After having a botched up declaw before we got him safely to the sanctuary we have been able to get all 4 of his paws reconstructed through our wonderful vet Dr. Jenny Conrad who runs the Paw Project. These surgeries are donated to our animals to help give them better more comfortable lives. Before the surgery Czar's paws were severely infected and had horrible nail re-growth that busted through his skin in deformed abnormal places. With his paws now fixed he can be assured of having a long happy life here at Forever Wild. He has been unpredictable but fun and loving and a joy to be a part of our exotic animal family.

Zorro is a 3 year old male black leopard that was given to us by an entertainer from Las Vegas in September 2007. He has been one of the fortunate cats here that has been able to have all four paws reconstructed. We have no worries of him being in any pain from the bad declaw he endured. Zorro is living in a much bigger enclosure than what he was used to and is in the open air that allows him to sun himself whenever he would like. This is also an option he did not have before. At first he had a rough time adjusting to his new home and had a rough patch during a recent hard storm but with much love and vet care we have been able to give him faith that we will always be here for him. He has been the only black leopard that loves water. He actually will follow you around his enclosure to try and get wet when you are watering. He has been a very big delight here and we really look forward to having many years with him and his water play.
